The world needs a Blog Icon
At the OpenData conference, several companies related to blogs showed dashboards from their products or fancy diagrams. Blogs were represented visually as either the RSS/Atom icon:
Or by the Blogger icon:
Neither of which is really correct. RSS is merely a related concept, and the Blogger icon is the logo of a company. (Owned by Google, no less.)
For such a fundamental concept, it’s sad their is no visually standard way to represent blogs. We need a standard blog icon. Any designers out there want to take a stab at it?

Way to rip off the RSS image. When does the Blog image bug “looks like a kindergarden created it” come out?

Seems everyone has been ripping off the RSS image these days. Do you know how many blogs I’ve seen it on????! There will be hell to pay when the dude who made it gets on the internet and realizing everyone’s been stealing his stuff!

The RSS icon is open source and no one will ever be upset because of its use.

Your exactly right, and am indeed surprised no one has created one. Anyway, my contribution for finding a standardised blogger icon can be found at my blog, let me know what you think

I like the first icon you’ve presented.
As you said, the second is an icon of a company (product, website).
