It’s looking like I’ll have to write my own trust specification. There is a FOAF module, but it seems rather rough around the edges. And hasn’t been updated in over two years.
The other option was to use just the del.icio.us tag system, with a tag for trust. But this totally violates what the taxonomy system is supposed to before: It’s supposed to descripe what the item is about, not how your opinion about it. (e.g. if you trust it)
It’s hard to get a grip on the sort(s) of trust involved: Trusting that the reports given by other users or organizations are not bullshit.
Plus, I may want to have the possibility for trust in different spheres. So maybe you trust someone to report on funny web pages, but don’t really want (or trust) their reports about political stuff. These are very interesting problems, but for 99% of the cases I think it’s a red herring. Most people tend to clump themselves into like-minded groups.
(Although there is the problem of a republican guy who has a democratic computer-expert friend. He would only want technical-variety reports from this friend. Ah, but this all required a much more fine-grained level of marking than I want to burden people with. Save it for future versions.)
